Learning and Development Manager

“The working culture here is full of caring, friendly and hardworking staff.”

  • Tell us about your role. What do you get up to on a typical day/week?

I am a Learning and Development Manager at BCH. I manage a team of staff, who work hard to deliver and administrate a wide range of courses within the areas of statutory and mandatory training, professional skills development and clinical training. My role is to link the delivery of learning solutions with the strategic direction of the organisation, to ensure that everyone’s development needs are met. I manage learning and development projects to roll out new initiatives as well as support the team to deliver and improve upon current provisions. Our training enables staff to carry out their roles safely and effectively.

  • What’s the best thing about working at BCH? What motivated you to join the organisation?

I was motivated to join the organisation as I am passionate about being part of a service that helps the community and makes a difference to people’s lives. I have always worked in health care in one form or another, from front line roles to lecturing in this subject. Being able to combine my interests in both education and health care is very rewarding.
