Prison Healthcare Services

Pioneering ways of working that are better for you and for patients.

We’re good together.

Working in a prison environment is safe, secure and offers all the professional rewards you’re looking for.

Supporting each other and working together, our nursing teams are enabled by comprehensive training and development, including clinical supervision to support a range of competencies.

Nurses here deliver long term and urgent care, community wing-based services, substance misuse and medicines management. There are opportunities to develop your skills and knowledge in managing long term conditions such as diabetes, respiratory, cardiovascular disease and epilepsy.

You can also choose your service preference on appointment, or to work in specialist areas such as substance misuse, Blood Borne Viruses and sexual health. Or you can choose from a range of career pathway opportunities to become a non-medical prescriber, supported by our prison non-medical prescribing forum.
