Every good nurse should go to prison….

We provide essential healthcare services to several prisons across the region and are seeking to increase our pool of Bank staff who support the prison teams.

Our prison healthcare teams are based at HMP Bristol (Horfield), HMP Ashfield (Pucklechurch), HMP Eastwood Park (Thornbury), HMP Erlestoke (between Devizes and Westbury) or HMP Leyhill (Thornbury). They work closely with prisoners to help improve their overall health and wellbeing as well as meeting their individual health requirements during their time in prison

So if you are looking to broaden your experience in a challenging yet rewarding environment with patients who often have very complex needs, this could be an excellent opportunity.

To join our bank you should have:

  • Full NMC Registration and evidence of CPD
  • A commitment to deliver clinical excellence
  • A passion for the benefits of community based healthcare

In return the Bristol Community Health Bank Office provides:

  • A competitive salary rate of up to £22.47 / hour
  • Access to relevant training courses
  • Uniforms
  • An online pay system so no paper timesheets and delayed or missed payments for shifts worked
  • Expenses for travel between work locations when on shift

When working on our Bank as a Band 5 Registered Nurse for our Offender Health service you will be paid a variable rate (Enhanced or Standard) that will be based on the level and urgency of demand placed on our Bank service from the prisons. Full disclosure of rates are listed below:
