Bristol Community Health CIC – Bristol, BS7 8PS

Permanent – £24,214 to £30,112 per annum

Bristol Community Health is the leading provider of healthcare in five regional prisons. We work in partnership, as InspireBetterHealth, with GPs, dentists, nurses, and mental health professionals to support and encourage service users to take ownership of their health.

If you would like the opportunity to join a forward thinking and innovative organisation with a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field of offender healthcare, then read on.

The Pharmacy team at HMP Bristol is looking for an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Accredited Checking Technician to join us on a full-time basis. We are based just outside of the prison but you will still be part of an integrated health service in a challenging but interesting environment. We are looking for candidates who are resilient, dedicated and non-judgmental.

The successful candidate will carry out ACT duties and will also lead the pharmacy team in providing an efficient and high quality pharmacy service including stock supplies, medicines dispensing services and advice to patients and multidisciplinary colleagues within the IBH cluster of 5 prisons.

HMP Bristol is a Category B adult male prison catering for men who are either convicted or on remand. The majority of prisoners are serving sentences of less than 12 months. The prison is located in the north of Bristol in Horfield just off Gloucester Road.

In addition to your basic salary, you will receive a secure environment allowance of £500 per annum (pro rata) on top of your basic salary (as of 1st July 2015).

As part of the recruitment you will be required to undergo prison security vetting and will be expected to commence this process within 10 working days of receiving a job offer.

Candidates are encouraged to come for a visit to the pharmacy department and find out more about the prison environment and the diverse range of services we deliver to our patients.

If you are a registered Pharmacy Technician (GPhC) with an NVQ in Pharmacy Services or equivalent qualification and a commitment to your professional and service development, we would like to hear from you.
