Our Medicines Management team include a range of professionals working together to provide a safe, secure and consistent pharmaceutical service to five prisons across the South West.

Whether advising on use of basic painkillers or establishing a full medicines management procedure, our team aim to help individuals develop good self-care strategies that they can carry forward to manage their own health.
Roles in the team include:
Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician
Assisting Pharmacists with providing advice, our Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technicians also carry out accuracy checks, resolve issues and identify any service problems. It’s a diverse and interesting role in a varied environment. You’ll also get to grow and share your skills through helping train and develop your junior colleagues. We look for an NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent) and registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
Managing medicines, their supply and administering as necessary, our Pharmacy Technicians also assist with dispensing advice and observe effects and side effects. The qualifications we look for are an NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services and registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), or a Nursing degree or equivalent qualification.
We can support your career development with a range of learning and development opportunities, including to become an Accredited Checking Technician (ACT). Supporting the team and the service by stocking supplies, you’ll also work with our suppliers, help to dispense medicines and provide patients with routine advice.
