Step into Health

Taking the leap from the military into healthcare? We’ll take it with you.

We’re good together.

Proud partners of Step into Health, we’re working with the Armed Forces community to offer a route into clinical and non-clinical careers for all service leavers, veterans and their families.

Step into Health was established in 2014 by Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, the Royal Foundation and Walking with the Wounded. The success of the pilot programme across 5 trusts in 2015 quickly led to a national rollout in 2017.

The programme is founded on the recognition that the Armed Forces community have transferable skills and cultural values that are compatible with those required for roles in the NHS.

Bristol Community Health understand this too and are offering the extra, ongoing support that individuals need to make the transition.

Candidates are encouraged to share their military experience so that they can take advantage of the Step into Health programme to apply their skills and experience in any of our service areas. For example, in Offender Health, where we’re delivering the kind of holistic care that goes beyond health to reduce reoffending and encourage people to make better life choices.
